Anybody following your studio on Cast98 can be assigned to your crew and subsequently added to rehearsals as an attendee. To capture their conflicts, however, they must submit a conflict calendar via the audition form.
Crew Assignments
Drag & drop an auditionee (or studio follower) from the sidebar list to a row on your crew to assign them a role. Unassign a person by clicking/touching/breaking the chain icon next to their name on the crew list. A person can only be assigned to one row, but on that row you can define many roles, e.g. "Props Manager/Fly #2/Finale Stagehand".
Mac users: Some directors using Safari have reported drag-and-drop not working. If you experience trouble, please try another browser (e.g. Chrome or Firefox) for the time being. Thanks!
Assigning crew without an audition
To add a crew member without a submitted audition, they must:
- Create a Cast98 user account
- Have a talent profile on their account
- Follow your studio
Profile not found?
If you see an assigned crew member called "Profile not found" it means the user has deleted the talent profile from their account. You can safely unassign them and they will need to create a new talent profile in order to be assigned again.
A newly created talent profile will be given a unique ID; it will not automatically reconnect a broken assignment, which is why you can safely unassign them. If they previously submitted an audition or conflict calendar to the show, they will need to do that again with the new talent profile.
Studio Followers on Crew List v. Follower Insights in Studio Tools
The Studio Followers that appear on your crew list are the talent profiles associated with users who are following your studio. This list may differ slightly from the follower insights you find in your studio's admin tools, since that list shows you the individual users.
For example, a mom with three kids may have three talent profiles on a single account. In your show's crew list you'll see the 3 follower profiles (one for each child) as assignable talent but in your studio's follower insights you'll only see the mom as the registered user.
Magic Word ✨ COSTUME
Any crew member whose assignment includes the word Costume (e.g. Costume Manager or Costumer) will be able to access costume profiles for the entire cast and crew. They will not gain access to any other director tools unless they are also added as a show manager. Eventually they will have the ability to input and save measurements for cast and crew.
Publishing & Visibility
Crew assignments are not published until the cast list is published. Likewise, neither cast nor crew can access protected resources (e.g. the rehearsal schedule) until the cast list is published.
Cast and crew alike are able to see each crew member's contact information including email address and phone number.
