About North Shore Music Theatre Inc.

North Shore Operatic Society was founded by a group of passionate Auckland residents after answering an invitation in the newspaper to attend a get to together and sing the songs of Gilbert and Sullivan. Fifty years, over 100 shows, several venue changes and many loyal, talented members later, North Shore Music Theatre as it’s now called, is an award winning theatre company which produces some of the best productions in Auckland. Take a look below at a wonderful story of the first 25 years and how our founding members set the foundation of the fantastic theatre company we are today!

Formatting How-To

Bold & Italics

You can make text italics or make text bold by surrounding it with underscores or double asterisks.

    _italicized text_
    **bold text**

Lists + Paragraphs

Create a bullet list by simply beginning each line with a hyphen (aka "dash") and a space. Numbered lists are similar: begin each line with a digit, dot (aka "period"), and space. Here they are working in tandem with paragraphs:

I've been doing musical theatre for a long time. Here's some of my favorite roles:

    - "Laurie" in _Little Women_, 2015
    - "Chad" in _High School Musical_, 2010
    - "Jimmy" in _Thoroughly Modern Millie_, 2007

Notice that sweet empty line after my list, and also after each paragraph? They are important, as you will see in a moment.

    1. I will eat all your green M&M's.
    2. I never practice at home.
    3. Kissing scenes are the best.

Leave an Empty Line

After every paragraph or list (but not after each individual item in a list), press Enter twice. This double line break starts a new paragraph or list.

Hyperlinks

The text you want to be clickable (like this) is wrapped in square brackets, while the full web address, including the http:// is wrapped in parentheses. There is no space between the closing square bracket and the opening parenthesis, like so:
