About Lockport Middle School Visual & Performing Arts Club

LKMS VAPA began last year as an idea to fill a gap in the arts for our community and in our schools in a positive artistic manner. Our purpose is to build confidence, community, trust, respect, expression and creativity in our students. We perform one musical a year and it is a student led program. Our students range in age from 11-14. They not only act, dance and sing; they also write bios and narrations, paint and create our sets, props, and costumes; run our lights and sound; play musical instruments; choreograph dances; as well as direct and lead the play artistically and fundamentally.

Upcoming Shows

Cade P. - September 18, 2019

This is my first experience with plays, and I have been having a blast. Lockport Middle School has the best performing arts club.

Tylon H. - May 29, 2019

I really like acting and I've been in 2 plays. I like making costumes, props and hats with my mom.

David B. - May 28, 2019

I'm an experienced artist and actor. Many of my friends said I had a really good talent of acting.

Ciara S. - May 26, 2019

Great. Kids learned a lot about the hard work it takes to put on a quality performance.

Formatting How-To

Bold & Italics

You can make text italics or make text bold by surrounding it with underscores or double asterisks.

    _italicized text_
    **bold text**

Lists + Paragraphs

Create a bullet list by simply beginning each line with a hyphen (aka "dash") and a space. Numbered lists are similar: begin each line with a digit, dot (aka "period"), and space. Here they are working in tandem with paragraphs:

I've been doing musical theatre for a long time. Here's some of my favorite roles:

    - "Laurie" in _Little Women_, 2015
    - "Chad" in _High School Musical_, 2010
    - "Jimmy" in _Thoroughly Modern Millie_, 2007

Notice that sweet empty line after my list, and also after each paragraph? They are important, as you will see in a moment.

    1. I will eat all your green M&M's.
    2. I never practice at home.
    3. Kissing scenes are the best.

Leave an Empty Line

After every paragraph or list (but not after each individual item in a list), press Enter twice. This double line break starts a new paragraph or list.

The text you want to be clickable (like this) is wrapped in square brackets, while the full web address, including the http:// is wrapped in parentheses. There is no space between the closing square bracket and the opening parenthesis, like so:
