I already cast my show. Can I just use the scheduling feature?

No. Cast98 is designed to take the burden off directors and we accomplish that by enabling actors to submit all their contact info, emergency info, conflicts, and role preferences digitally. Then we automatically sync that information without directors having to do anything extra.

We recommend that you invite your cast to submit the audition form as a formality because it takes them less than 5 minutes and will spare you hours of tedious work. Actors and parents of actors love Cast98; you'd be depriving them of some great cast-only features if you don't invite them to be a part of your show!

How do I add my cast to my show?

With Cast98, you don't just post a show and enter all your cast information. We've designed our tools so that actors can manage their own information and submit it to you the director via the audition form. Doing so automatically syncs their information, conflicts, and role preferences so that you have ready access with minimal effort.

In theory, you can create an account for each of your cast members yourself, but why would you want to? That would be awful, it wouldn't save you any time, and you would walk away hating Cast98. It takes your cast and crew members 5 minutes to sign up and submit an audition form, so within a couple hours you will be up and running if you start now.

To get started, copy and paste the URL for your show page into an email to your cast. Ask them to sign up and fill out their conflicts. Then grab a glass of wine and wait. That's way better than spending all night entering conflicts yourself, no?

How do I refuse late conflicts?

The better question is how do I accept late conflicts because by default new conflicts will not appear on your rehearsal schedule. You the director are empowered to approve late conflicts on a case-by-case basis.

Actors that want to add conflicts after their audition is past must login and edit their conflict calendar. Then, they must tell you they have new conflicts and you can choose whether or not you want to merge them into the rehearsal schedule.

To accept a performer's request for late conflicts, go to your show's auditionee dashboard, click on the performer to pull up their profile, and use the Save & Sync button to re-sync their conflicts to the schedule. It's that easy.

Do you offer a discount for non-profits?

Yep! If you are directing a show for a non-profit drama group or public school, you can ask for a discount and we'll gladly give you 50% off the regular price. Please include the name and location of your non-profit in your request so that we can verify its tax status.

Note: Sometimes our first-time director discount is greater than 50% off, so you might do better to go ahead and post your first show before inquiring about non-profit status.

I'm not a theatre company. Can I use Cast98?

Yes, you can totally use Cast98 even if you're not a theatre. Dance studios, schools, drama clubs, chorus groups, film studios... heck, even sports teams, study groups, and non-performance-based organizations can benefit from automated scheduling, as long as they don't mind nomenclature like auditions, rehearsals, and shows.
